Our
History
Our expertise
in making leather goes back
to Cromwell’s founding
in
1898 in Germany. By 1946, when
Curtis Cromwell established
the
headquarters in New York, the
company had become recognized
internationally as tanners
of fine leathers.
In the second half of the
twentieth century, under the
leadership of Harry Fleisch,
Cromwell focused its growth
on providing specialty leathers
for leather goods, graphic
arts and furnishing products.
The foundation was laid for
the company’s present
position as an innovator in
the industry,
as Cromwell applied its deep
knowledge and experience in
producing fine Genuine
Leathers to develop unique Bonded
Leathers.
Tom Fleisch has been president
of Cromwell since 1990, guiding
the
company in its global expansion.
With manufacturing plants in
the United States and Europe,
as well as offices and warehousing
in the United States and Asia,
Cromwell maintains a strong
international presence. This
enables us to stay on the cutting
edge of leather fashion and
to provide unparalleled service
to customers. |
